Samsung's KS8000 model is one of the most recommended TVs for gaming across countless media sites. Thanks to its low input lag, superb image quality and great price point, it has become a big seller for Samsung this gaming generation. Unfortunately, it has also become one of the most talked about TVs among videophiles and gamers for all the wrong reasons.
Plagued by constant picture blackouts, odd color separations and settings not switching in Game Mode (not counting the panel separation issues, but that's a whole other topic), the KS8000 is turning out to be a nightmare for gamers who've rushed to purchase this model based on all the glowing media recommendations.
And don't feel like you're alone in this! We too are victims of Samsung's poor quality control and customer service. I can't remember the last time I had a gaming session without the picture flickering, the color separating, the audio glitching, the remote not responding...I can't even count the number of issues I encounter daily. If the countless threads on PSN forums and AVS forums aren't enough to get Samsung to provide an official answer, then I don't know what else it's going to take.
Skimming though Samsung's very own forums, we can clearly see a Samsung representative acknowledging the issue back in May...
and then again in June...
We're getting close to September now, and the 1201.6 Firmware is out in the wild but still no word on Game Mode improvements.
At this point, we're just trying to gather more reports from users so that we can hopefully receive a more direct answer from Samsung when we reach out to them again.
Have you experienced similar issues, and has anyone found a fix? Please share any screenshots or video links as they will help us provide a more thorough report. I know there are a lucky few with perfect sets, but this issues has been spreading like wildfire since 2016, and it only seems to be getting worse.
