Every once in a while a video game franchise comes along that shapes and molds the way we view gaming as a whole. One of those franchises is moving its latest release from its home on the PC and heading to the world of consoles. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be released on June 9, 2015. Owners of Microsofts Xbox One or SONY’s PlayStation 4 will be able to travel the legendary world of Tamriel, in one of the biggest Elder Scrolls games to date!

One of the most exciting things about the release of Tamriel Unlimited is that there is no longer a monthly subscription fee to play. Simply buy the game and you're set. Even better, if you already own the original for PC or Mac, your account will automatically be updated for free on March 17th. So all that extra content that you might have been holding off on will be yours for free!

Of course, a game like this isn't viable if you're throwing away monthly subscription fees and handing out all the previous content for free. Instead, the game will include optional DLC and an in-game shop called the "Croen Store," where you can purchase what Bethesda calls "convenience and customization items." Hold on, there's more. Bethesda will also be offering ESO Plus; a monthly subscription that grants players access to a monthly allotment of crowns to use in the in-game store, exclusive in-game "bonuses" and access to all the DLC. So, whether or not Tamriel will become a pay-to-win is uncertain. However, we need only wait a a couple a months to find out the answer.
