Dead Island Rises Again

There's good news today for those who love nothing more than a mass slaying of the undead. The developers and publishers at Techland and Deep Silver have announced a release date for the sequel to the popular Dead Island game. Dead Island: Riptide will be released on April 23rd for the folks over in the US, and on April 26th 2013 for European gamers. Even better news, if you are wise and eager enough to pre-order, you will be showered with exclusive weapons to use against the hoards of zombies, pretty neat eh!

The story line of the game will begin where the previous Dead Island left off, yet sadly our four zombie killing heroes are foiled in their plan to escape the Island due to a devastating tropical storm, and instead have to return to the Zombie ridden Island for another battle against the undead. There will be the single player mode where you can choose your favourite character, and do some serious damage to the hundreds of zombies in your path to safety, or you can play in Horde or Man vs Machine mode. The choice is yours.

With GTA V also now confirmed for Spring 2013, are we likely to see another launch window similar to this Fall, with plenty of fantastic games all released in close proximity? Will you be buying Dead Island: Riptide, or are you over the whole Zombie cult that has currently exploded in modern media?
